Scientific conference entitled “False alarms in fire alarm systems”
Scientific Centre for Fire Protection – National Research Institute (CNBOP-PIB) would like to invite you to participate in a scientific conference entitled “False alarms in fire alarm systems”, which will be held in the Institute on 21 September 2022. The conference is addressed to the officers and civil employees of the State Fire Service, CNBOP-PIB clients, i.e. manufacturers and suppliers of products, in particular fire alarm systems, designers, installers, specialists and fire protection experts, as well as other persons interested in the subject of false alarms.
The problem of false alarms in the installation of fire alarm systems in buildings in Poland is not a new issue and problem. In this regard, research and scientific works have been undertaken, guidelines for design have been created, standardization and analytical works have been carried out, products which are elements of the fire alarm systems have been improved. Changes in the detection systems, new technical solutions and technologies, the number of facilities equipped with the fire alarm systems, changes in the organization and resources of the fire alarm systems, statistics on events, including calls for false alarms and the associated costs, conducted research and performed forecasts, as well as experiences and solutions in this area in other countries are the circumstances to take up the subject.
The purpose of the conference is to discuss the issue of false alarms in the installations of fire alarm systems, including the results of scientific research on false alarms and the exchange of experiences between representatives of science and practitioners from the area of rescue, as well as insurers, and also manufacturers and suppliers of solutions for fire alarm systems. The conference program will include presentations of invited speakers, as well as a discussion among the participants, which is expected to foster the formulation of conclusions and proposals for action to change / improve the situation in terms of false alarms in the fire alarm systems in our country. During the conference, representatives of the State Fire Service, universities and insurance companies, manufacturers of fire alarm systems will speak, who in their presentations will discuss selected issues in the area of false alarms in fire alarm systems. The conference will explore the issues from the perspective of rescue operations, academia, manufacturers, insurance companies and fire protection specialists.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. The limitation is the number of available places, therefore participation is determined on a first-come, first-served basis.
